The article is devoted to the analysis
of symbolic methods used by artists in the Modern epoch. The article
opens the content of symbolic methods and the originality of their
manifestation in the Polish fine arts of Secession.
A system of special means and techniques for transferring a hidden meaning
in the artists creation of that time is considered by the author. The problem
of transfering the ideas of the artistic work with the help of symbols was clearly
opened in the work of artists in Poland (the end of the XIX and the beginning
of the XX centuries). An analysis of these artworks give possibility to see how
symbols and symbolic methods influence the viewer's consciousness.
