Terms of Use for AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

The Editorial Board of the Bulletin of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (Visnyk LNAM) affirms its commitment to the principles of academic integrity, publication ethics, and transparency in the processing of manuscripts.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is understood as a set of digital systems capable of generating textual or other scholarly content, automatically reviewing manuscripts, producing conclusions, or making decisions that would normally require human involvement.

Policy on the Use of AI

For Authors

Transparency of AI use
Authors are required to clearly disclose in the cover letter any AI tools used in the preparation of the manuscript.

Authorship limitations
AI cannot be listed as an author or co-author of a scholarly work. Authorship is reserved for individuals who have made a significant intellectual contribution to the research.

Responsibility for content
Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of the submitted work, including any content generated with the assistance of AI tools. The Editorial Board of the Visnyk LNAM assumes no responsibility for errors or inaccuracies generated by AI.

Use of AI in research analysis
If AI tools were used for data analysis or the generation of research results, authors must provide a detailed description of the methodology and specify how AI technologies were applied.

Originality and plagiarism
The use of AI must not result in violations of academic integrity, including plagiarism.

For Reviewers

Ethical considerations in AI use
Reviewers are advised to use AI tools with caution when assisting in the peer review process. The review must reflect the reviewer’s independent expert judgment.

Confidentiality
Reviewers must not upload manuscript content to publicly accessible or unsecured AI tools, as this may compromise the confidentiality of the peer review process.

For the Editorial Board

The journal may provide authors and reviewers with recommendations regarding the ethical and responsible use of AI.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to mandatory plagiarism screening, including the detection of potentially AI-generated content.

The Editorial Board makes decisions on the acceptance or rejection of manuscripts based on their scholarly merit, originality, and quality.

Ethical Principles

The use of AI must not violate the principles of academic integrity, copyright, or confidentiality, and must not be employed to manipulate peer review outcomes or authorship attribution.

Any violations related to undisclosed or improper use of AI will be treated as potential breaches of publication ethics.

Policy Updates

This policy is subject to revision in response to changes in international standards, including recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, as well as regulatory frameworks of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
