Procedure for the peer review of manuscripts submitted for publication in the academic journal "Bulletin of Lviv National Academy of Arts"

  1. The purpose of peer review is to enhance the quality of scholarly articles published in the Bulletin of the Lviv National Academy of Arts (Visnyk LNAM) through expert evaluation by highly qualified specialists.
  2. The peer review procedure is conducted on a double-blind basis, ensuring anonymity for both reviewers and authors.
  3. All research articles submitted to the journal are subject to mandatory peer review.
  4. The Editorial Board coordinates the peer review process. The standard review period is up to one month from the date the reviewer receives the manuscript.
  5. Reviewers may include members of the Editorial Board as well as highly qualified national and international experts (Doctors of Sciences, Professors, PhD holders, Associate Professors) whose research specialization closely matches the subject of the manuscript. Reviewers are invited by the Editorial Office and receive a coded (anonymized) manuscript along with a standard review form. External reviewers are typically selected based on their expertise, current workload, and consent.
  6. Reviewers must not be the author or co-author of the manuscript under review. They are informed that submitted manuscripts are the intellectual property of the authors and contain confidential information not subject to disclosure. Reviewers are not permitted to make copies of manuscripts. The review process is conducted confidentially.
  7. Authors are given the opportunity to ознакомиться with the content of the review. Disclosure of reviewer identity is permitted only in cases where the reviewer reports suspected plagiarism or data falsification.
  8. If a review contains recommendations for revision, the Executive Secretary forwards the review to the author with a request to address the comments or provide a reasoned rebuttal. Revised manuscripts are subject to re-review.
  9. If a reviewer does not recommend publication, the Editorial Board may still invite the author to revise the manuscript in accordance with the comments. In such cases, the text of the negative review is sent to the author.
  10. The final decision on publication is made by the Editorial Board and is recorded in the official minutes of its meeting.
  11. Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, the Executive Secretary informs the author and specifies the expected publication timeline.
  12. Reviews and recommendations for each article are archived electronically by the Editorial Office for a period of two years from the publication date of the issue in which the article appears.
  13. Each review must include a qualified analysis of the manuscript, an objective and well-reasoned evaluation, and substantiated recommendations.
  14. The concluding part of the review must contain a clear and reasoned recommendation regarding the suitability of the article for publication in the journal within a specific academic field, in accordance with the official classification of scientific specialties approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine.
  15. The Editorial Board does not engage in correspondence or discussion with authors of rejected manuscripts.
