The article analyzes the literature on the state of research on Alexander Roitburd's work, in particular the iconography of his works. On the example of selected works of Oleksandr Roitburd in 1989, the iconography and symbolism of his paintings are considered. A brief overview of biblical motifs and Jewish themes in the artist's work is provided. Based on the analysis of paintings in 1989, it was found that the author used encrypted signs, as well as many references to various periods and styles in art. With the help of description, analysis and interpretation, the peculiarities of O. Roitburd's own mythology are highlighted. As a result of art analysis of works of art from the period of 1989, analogues in the artist's work were found. During this period, the artist repeatedly used the same composition, signs and colors. Most often, this is an image of stones falling from the sky, two-color tricts, and faces with tongues sticking out.
