Abstract: 

The article considers the specifics of emotional and sensory perception of nature in the process of drawing, emphasizes various aspects of knowledge, based on spontaneity, which more widely reveals the essence of sensory-artistic thinking in mastering the expressiveness of short, grotesque drawings and cartoons. On the basis of practical experience the forms and methods of work for the development of these original genres of art are determined. Emphasis is placed on avoiding excessive analysis, which can be an obstacle in the process of work, so as not to nullify the emotional and meaningful effect of the grotesque work. Expressive feeling helps to find a concrete, original image subordinated to the imagination, the first spontaneous feeling quickly recorded is extremely valuable and convincing, and artistic intuition helps the painter to feel the moment when attempts to add or correct something become unnecessary. Creativity, developed in the system of active, figurative perception, impresses with its originality, direct persuasiveness, and the conventionality of the means of expression stimulate the creative process. Expression, expressiveness of the grotesque, abstract perception and thinking brought stylistic improvement, a new plastic culture, enriched the range of means of expression. The task of emotionality in the work on grotesque images is not the principle of construction of the human head, but rather reflection on the expressiveness of its constituent parts, the construction of its spatial organism.
