New unusual phenomena are being traced in modern Ukrainian textile art, expanding its boundaries and possibilities. The creative practices of talented artists, associated with new processes in Ukrainian art, forms interdisciplinary interactions between textiles and other types of art. The subject of the study are creations of that Ukrainian artists which combine textile materials and means with the material and technical tools of other types of art, namely M. Skugareva, V. Kuznetsov, T. Barabash, N. Sobko, V. Buryanyk, Ya. Tkachuk. The research of this issue and the work of these artists is innovative and relevant.
Despite the fact that the art of modern Ukrainian textiles and its various types had been studied by art historians, the phenomenon of multidisciplinary, multimedia, and conceptual art have not received special consideration in the context of artistic textiles. Introducing the works, projects, and achievements of the aforementioned authors into the discourse of artistic textiles, their analysis from the perspective of issues, artistic qualities, ideological principles, and means of artistic embodiment is important and relevant.
As a result of the study, we can conclude that there are certain border areas where the means of such different types of art as painting and decorative textiles are combined. A risky, unexpected combination requires the professionalism and talent of the artist. We can see talented embodiments in the use of fiber and fabric to create collage compositions on a wooden base, where textiles are one of the materials. Conceptual projects in the field of textile art, which are becoming increasingly widespread on the domestic art scene are very interesting. In addition artistic textiles push the boundaries of art when multimedia forms and means are involved, and not only visual ones. The analysis of creative projects by Ukrainian artists provides the basis for conclusions and certain generalizations. Original artistic means makes more deep and expressive feeling of reality, more vividly convey the beauty of life, the depth of roots and traditions, the anxiety and pain of war, the philosophy and symbolism of being.
