Abstract:

Recently, we have been observing a new aesthetic wave in Ukrainian textile art, associated with the processes of interdisciplinary interaction, when artistic and expressive and technical means of various types of art are uniquely combined. The purpose of the study is to investigate these processes in the field of artistic fabric in symbiosis with the means of three-dimensional plasticity. The subject of the study is the creative practices of modern Ukrainian artists of the last five years, in particular the plasticity of Konstantin Zorkin, glass artist Ruslan Luchko, and professional textile artist Dana Yakymchuk from the point of view of interdisciplinary interactions of textiles and sculptural plasticity and relief. Although some aspects of the artists' work have been the subject of art criticism, especially the well-known in Ukraine and abroad Konstantin Zorkin, they have not been considered in the context of the art of fabric, its aesthetics, methods of arrangement, plastic possibilities, and figurative expressiveness, which, in fact, constitutes the novelty of this publication. It was found that in modern Ukrainian textiles, a trend is becoming more and more relevant, when the art of fabric and the means of sculptural plasticity, collage, and installation are organically combined. At the same time, unusual means of arranging fabric are used to achieve the effect of sculpture with the use of hot glue, beeswax, drapery, etc., which is not traditional for textile crafts. Some artists use used decorative fabrics, fabrics with a history, fabrics from a family chest, the attic of a grandmother's house, such as embroidery, ryadna, lace, which builds new meanings, outlines an artistic idea. For K. Zorkin, the simplicity and lack of fabric decor is an undoubted priority. The use of technical and time-damaged fabrics, a deliberate emphasis on the brutality of the material - burlap, carelessly torn rags with frayed edges, leads to associations with Arte Povera (poor art). In their work, the authors build a unique artistic space, immerse themselves in their inner world, search for sources of identity, embody images of folklore mythology and demonology, overcome the traumas of reality, cherish family memory and the power of their native land.
