Background. In modern world official web pages of art academies of universities became a main channel for communication with potential students, informing about exhibition activities and results of studying process. Previously this part of public communications was organized by publishing official bulletins or yearly newspapers that shows chosen photos and descriptions of studying process. Art critique was mostly represented by articles on quarterly published Bulletin`s.
Objectives. The main aim of the article is to make an analyze how fine art is represented on the web pages of Ukrainian art educational institutions. Among the other objectives of the current research is also to compare them with foreign unusual examples of educational institutions web pages and to generously find successful examples of promoting student`s and teacher`s personal achievements as well as advertising all institution via the official web platform.
Methods. An analysis of the presentation of information concerning entrants, students and graduates of educational institutions was conducted. Special attention was paid to the availability of visual and analytical materials related to all stages of the educational process.
Results. The normative documents determining the list of information that is mandatory for publication are considered. The peculiarities of display of the content, namely visual and theoretical materials, are analyzed. The necessity of observance of the copyright during the publication of materials is emphasized. The problem aspects of displaying materials on web pages are considered, the opportunities and advantages that can be used in representing information are emphasized.
Conclusions. Representation of fine arts on the sites of institutions of higher education of Ukraine, which trains specialists in the field, contains a number of disadvantages: selectivity of presentation, lack of identification of authorship of works, insufficient number of critical or analytical materials related to the educational process and its results. Coverage of exhibition activities is often incomplete and the activity of educational institutions in the given area is limited to the preparation of reports for the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. At the same time, leading educational institutions, including the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, the Lviv National Academy of Arts, the Kharkiv State Academy of Design, the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts etc. demonstrate awareness of the problem and their search for solutions for the representation of visual materials and analytical texts.
